Why did you choose Drew?
I wanted a small school with a close community and connection to the greater city, as well as really incredible teachers.
If you had to choose a favorite activity/experience at Drew, what would it be and why?
Miami DEALL. It combined service, history, and natural sciences in a new community.
What is one of your favorite classes?
Our Socratic Seminars and little skits that we put on in History.
How do you think you have changed since starting at Drew and what do you think Drew had to do with that change?
I have become a person more involved in helping my community, and I’ve done that through the opportunities for outreach that Drew offers. (i.e., Volunteering at Cobb elementary has helped me become really interested in education as a career path.)
What is something you accomplished at Drew that you feel proud to have done?
Organizing and planning the 415 with ASB - I had no experience with budgeting before becoming Treasurer and I really enjoy it.
What are three words you think your friends would use to describe you?
Creative, outgoing, organized.
What song is on repeat for you right now?
Really enjoying the artist Thomas Day right now.
What is a core Drew memory you want to share?
Freshman orientation! I felt so incredibly close to my classmates on day one (after jumping around in a bouncy house and mechanical bull in the courtyard).
What do you like to do for lunch?
Often eating with people from different grade levels, I also like taking walks around the area.
How was the transition from middle school to high school and how did Drew help?
I was unhappy at my middle school, when I found Drew I felt so happy to be at school in SF, and to be seen and valued by my teachers. I really felt that teachers very quickly understood my strengths and areas for growth and they met me where I was at academically and socially.
What is something you can find at Drew that you can't find anywhere else?
Teachers that see you not as a mathematician or writer, per se, but as a whole human being.
What are you passionate about outside of Drew?
Counselor at a summer camp/horse barn, volunteering at Cobb elementary, I have worked for politicians, and hiking and camping around the Bay Area.
